Production Blog: Setting up for Recording
Hi Blog!
Today I'm going to talk to you all about what I did during the first day of our filming for the music video. To begin the filming I first looked at the rubric for mandatory elements in the music video. I made a checklist that had at least two different angles necessary. I wrote down the angles we could use which included a high angle, an over the shoulder, a low angle, and a point of view shot. I wrote down the movements we could include which were a pan, tilt, a zoom, and a tracking shot. I wanted to make sure to include most of these angles and movements. The shots I made sure to include in the list were a two shot, a long shot, a medium close up, and a medium long shot. The filming of the music video began during the weekend. Sasha and I decided to begin shooting the first scenes at the park. I called the mutual friend to meet us to film the scenes that couldn't be filmed individually. The first scene was of Sasha and I swinging on the swings and cheerfully talking about different topics. Due to this scene being the first scene ever recorded, it was hard for our friend to get the perfect shot that showed a clear medium long shot. After a while she was able to understand how to and we didn't have that many problems with the actual recording. After recording the scene of Sasha and I saying goodbye to each other we notices it was starting to lightly rain. Although Sasha and I knew it was risky filming outside due to weather, the forecast did not predict this surprise shower. I thought that because we were mainly done with the filming outside for those particular scenes, that the production could be moved to shoot the indoor scenes for the rest of the day. This was the backup plan incase the weather was ruining the location, and in this case it did. The recording continued in my house where I began acting as the girl who was texting her friend asking to hang out. I also knew that multiple scenes could get filmed there, no matter the order, because of the limited time. I quickly changed into new clothes to show different days going by and I moved things in my room around to show a change in days as well. This allowed Sasha and I to film most of our scenes indoors, now Sasha and I only had to worry about the rest of the outdoor scenes. This covers all that was done during the weekend to produce the scenes in the music video! See you later!
