Production Blog: Finishing Touches
Hi Blog!
Welcome back to the finishing touches of producing this music video! Today I'm going to talk about the finishing touches I did and helped complete during our last days filming. Now the clips were shortened and added to their correct placement with the song. I decided it would be a nice touch to add a filter onto the video to make the mood more eery and creepy. To do this I went scrolling through the many filters CapCut had. I found one filter that I thought would work out but when discussing it with my partner, Sasha, I knew that it was too tacky or weird looking. It didn't really fit into the concept as much as I had previously hoped. I finally found a filter that seemed to fit the mood of the entire music video. However I wanted the music video to have more depth. I decided to add a light and happy looking filter that elevated the happy scenes to the beginning of the scenes. This is because in the beginning the girls are happily playing and talking. The natural lighting from the sun does the part of showing the comfort of these clips but I wanted a filter that could enhance that. Once I found one that wasn't too extra but just enough power I decided to go with it. I then realized that the rest of the video shouldn't have a light filter, so during the middle of the film I stuck to a filter that showed a filter that wasn't too light or too dark. Again, the lighting that was used during the recording was enhanced by these filters. At the end I reinserted the morbid and eery filter. The use of these filters didn't seem as choppy as I thought transitioning between them would look which was a success! I then realized there was still something missing, I added in different effects and transitions to where the clips were each cut. Then, I wanted to add a text messaging effect to show the responses the characters were texting each other more clearly. Once this was added I was all finished! Thats all for today, See you later!
