Production Blog: Setting up for the Music Video

Today I'm going to tell you about the steps my partner and I are taking to begin setting up and filming for the music video. Sasha and I needed to come up with a schedule that worked for both of us where we could meet and film our music video. Sasha and I were busy after school most days so we knew that we couldn't film during the week. However, I made sure to let Sasha know when I was free to work during the weekends, she told me when she was free as well. Deciding to work mostly on the weekends and partly on the weekdays, Sasha and I  couldn't work last weekend due to our already busy schedules. Needing to clear time for the process. We could work on the music video during the weekend coming up. For our music video we want it to be shot in around three locations. These include the park, someone's house, and the general neighborhood. For this to be done we needed to find out the best time to go to the park would be so that it wasn't crowded with a lot of children. The park we filmed at needed to be close to both of us, this was a slight problem as our distance between each other is big. We did not know how to use a public area and ensure that no kid would want to use a "prop" during our time of filming. I thought it might be a good idea to look around the park during different times of the day and seeing when children were most and least active. Confirming that most people left the park around Sunday at  5pm, Sasha and I knew we had to film at that time most weekends. When deciding on what house to use for the film we tried to pick the house that was the closest to the park. This is because it would be more efficient to get the most filming done as take less time going back and forth between houses and the park. Deciding what area of where we lived we wanted to film certain scenes in knowing that we needed posts to hand flyers up proved to be less difficult than imagined. I knew that we needed one other person to help us in our music video. I asked my and Sasha's friend if she could help with another actor and she agreed. For the final step, a phone needed to be picked to film. I thought that Sasha's phone would work best because it is a new model than my phone, the quality would be improved.
