Production Blog: Creating a Cast for the Video
Hi Blog!
Today I wanted to tell you all about what the process was to begin recording. After scoping out the sets we would use for the scenes, there were a few issues. The first issue was who was going to be the main character in the music video. When discussing the aspects of the music video including the park, the house, and the overall area to film. Being so caught up with other things led us to not even think about one of the most important parts. The decision of who would play who was not that complicated. Sasha and I were discussing the actions that would be done by the characters in the music video when she said that she could be the friend who goes missing. Now that we had our characters we also shortly realized that two people might not be enough people for the characters we wanted to have. We needed to have people play a police officer, and a mysterious figure or stalker. The solution to the first problem was we called our mutual friend asking if she would be okay dressing up as a police officer and acting a little bit. Her response to this was a confirmation that she would be willing to be in the music video. Now, the mysterious person used to show someone watching the two girls. After thinking about a person to include, we didn't know if we could ask anyone else who would be up for the role. After considering our choices in other people for that certain role, we decided on one of our tall male friends. This is because we wanted it to be clear that the person looking at Sasha could overpower her, like in many real life scenarios. After settling on a person for that role Sasha and I needed to have set times to film and edit our music video. Previously I discussed how Sasha and I needed to film during the weekends and only sometimes we could film on weekdays. Now we need more specific times to meet. During the weekends we stated that around 5pm works for filming at the park because more people are leaving and it's less busy. For working on Saturdays I said that anytime around 1 works for me and she agree that 12-3 would be good to edit and film. Weekdays we would need to begin filming after school and any clubs, around 6pm, which is why we were unsure. The overall process of choosing who in the cast to play which characters and the specific schedule and locations editing and recording would take place were the topics discussed today. Thats all for me to tell you about today! See you next time!
