Production Blog: Finishing up Recording
Hi Blog!
Today I'm going to talk about what I did during the production of the last few scenes of the music video. After the previous attempt at recording outdoors Sasha and I met when the sky looked clear and the forecast looked only sunny. There were no more troubles regarding the weather. The rest of the recording needed to be filmed could be recorded with two people only. I recorded the scenes of Sasha and of the police officer. To film the rest of the scenes Sasha and I knew we needed to be in an area that looked believable enough to resemble an actual town. Thankfully, the location that Sasha and I found worked really well as there weren't many people but there were just enough in the distance to make the situation believable. During the beginning of filming on this day I did have some trouble acting. I wasn't able to show the emotion I wanted on camera, this was a common thing for Sasha and I as we never acted on camera. However, after multiple takes, I was finally able to be happy with the outcome. I was able to record the scenes where I wasn't on camera. During outside filming, Sasha and I made sure to record during a time with less children in the area. This is similar to the recording of the scenes around the neighborhood. It was okay if the video had children in it, this could capture the livelihood of the park in contrast to the morbid situation the two friends have going on. However I didn't want a lot of children to distract from the main focus of our music video. When filming the final scenes for the music video I realized that I didn't like how one scene looked. I thought that one of the indoor scenes we filmed the other weekend didn't show a true range of the emotions the character should feel. I knew that this scene could show more than a simple phone screen to truly tell more of the story. I told Sasha this and she agreed that I should do something else. After rerecording this new scene, I found that it made the video more interesting and expressive. After that one scene the recording of the music video was over! Now we just have to edit! See you later!
