Music Video Planning Blog
Hi Blog!
So, Sasha and I have just started to pick out the song for the music video. It was difficult trying to pick a song because there wasn't a clear idea for the video yet. After searching the whole period these were the top picks so far. Girls just want to have fun by Cyndi Lauper, Complicated by Avril Lavigne, Picture to burn, Mean, and we are never getting back together by Taylor Swift. It said on the rubric that the music video tells a story so the song had to agree with this. Not many songs were like that, that could be used for the video. It took a while to brainstorm other song ideas. After searching Taylor Swift's discography, No Body, No Crime seemed to be a great option for the music video. It is a song I like and thought it could be a cool music video since there was never an official one made. The song features a captivating melody that draws you into the story. It has an interesting vibe and a mystery to be discovered. This song inspired the rest of the filming and production of the music video. It was discussed that the video could be based on a mystery that needed to be solved. Possibly, it could take place in a park where there is lots of greenery or at the mall. If the recording began at a park a backup plan, incase the weather impacts our work would need to be thought of. I discussed that the recording would just have to be moved indoors and recording outside could wait for another day. The music video would probably be filmed on the weekend since it would be challenging to film it after school. For the costumes, I think it would be better not to wear our everyday clothes. Using costumes will help to make our music video seem more mysterious. Wearing jackets and maybe glasses or a hat will help convey this message to the audience. So far the is no "script" but that is something to work on next class. There is definitely a lot more filming, editing, and brainstorming to do, but it is a really exciting project to work on! See you later!
