Production Blog: Finishing Touches and Review

 Hi blog!

It's nice to see you again! Today I'm going to tell you all about the final changes I made to my commercial on CapCut. I will also tell you my overall review of the app and how I would rate the process. To finish the commercial about myself I needed to add the two videos I wanted. I looked through old video cameras that stored videos of when I was a little older than a toddler for the first video. I looked through old video cameras because I realized that I wanted to give my commercial a vintage vibe that was added through the quality of the video. Once I found the video that I thought stood for my overall personality when I was around 6 or 7 years old, I needed to export it to my computer. This was my first problem because I found out that the cord that plugged into the camera was not suitable for my computer. To solve this, I used my dad's computer and exported the video to it. Then, I sent the video to my phone and exported it to CapCut. I needed to find my second video; this video had to be more recent to show my personality right now. This was easier because the camera that I found the video on is more advanced. I exported the video to my computer this time and sent it directly to myself. Once I had two videos on CapCut and I placed the one of me when I was a toddler in between the videos of me transitioning from a toddler to an older child. Once I had my video in the position I wanted I shortened it to be around 9-10 seconds. I made the video longer than the images because I knew that people pay more attention to videos rather than having to stare at an image for too long. I made the video around 9-10 seconds and added a fade - in and a fade - out transition. I then moved the video of my personality in between the pre-teen and the teenager images. I also made it 9-10 seconds long and added a fade - in and a fade - out transition. I wanted to have the audio of the videos in my commercial, so I simply clicked the unmute button for the two video clips and made the volume for each higher. After this was done, I realized that the transitions between photos and videos were less seamless or fluid than I imagined. I fixed this by adding in another effect that I found in CapCut and that seemed to make it less choppy. The last thing I did was add text to my commercial. I wanted to introduce myself and I typed my name at the beginning and added my age when each photo was shown. Now for a review of the app. I would say the CapCut app made my commercial easier to create and it made the process seem amazingly simple. The overall review of the process will be shown in my reflection. That's all for now! See you next time!
