Commercial Reflection

 Hi Blog!

I finished my all about me commercial and today I'm going to reflect on the process. When beginning to work on this commercial I needed to download CapCut. I had never used this piece of technology before this project, this lack of knowledge hindered the process by making it move slower than anticipated. I needed to learn how to navigate the app to crop an image, shorten a video, add music, add text, and use effects. CapCut made the editing process easier than I thought, it explained the use of most buttons and the layout of the editing software which made it generally easy to understand. However, there were difficulties such as not being able to use the actual effects I wanted due to them being on CapCut Pro, which made me have to replace them with other transitions. Other than that, I was able to select the images, videos and edit the songs however I wanted. Another piece of technology I learned how to use included the exporting of a video and how to upload a video to YouTube. I never knew how to export a CapCut movie to Youtube, let alone upload a YouTube video myself. I found difficulty in this because my computer wouldn't allow me to embed my video as it uploaded as a YouTube short instead of a regular video, I figured out that I had to use my mother's computer to embed it and upload it because it was compatible to a mouse used. Throughout the process of putting this project together I learned the importance of patience when editing and how to edit efficiently. I learned how to create a transition through music and create smooth transitions in between clips. I learned how to make a video shorter or longer and how to add text while placing it on its correlating image or video. I also learned that putting a project together takes more time than I thought in the beginning. In order for this to be done nicely a person should understand that it requires mistakes and learning from them to execute it. What I can do to make my next project better could be to review every detail of the project before uploading it because when I originally uploaded my video I found that I didn't credit the songs I used. I then needed to add them and move them to their position and add a fade-in effect to make their appearance more smooth and similar to the previous pieces of text. I would also like to add CapCut on my computer. This is because I found it to be difficult to click on the small buttons on my phone, a computer would've allowed for less complication and more efficient when working on the project, which could make the outcome better. Overall, the process of editing my video was a fun experience with a few obstacles that I eventually learned how to overcome. In the future I will use what I learned from this experience to create a more advanced work! That's all for now, see you next time!
